DepEd Tangub City Division Sets Brigada Eskwela Kick – Off

     The Department of Education, Division of Tangub City enjoined the whole country in setting into motion, one of the most significant events of the department – the 2016 Brigada Eskwela scheduled, May 30- June 4, 2016.

With the theme “ Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas. Maayos, at Handa mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School. DepEd encouraged education stakeholders to take part in the conduct of this activity.

Our goal as explained by the DepEd A. Armin Luistro FSC – is to see to it that on June 13, our classrooms are busy with the day’s lesson because the schools have already been prepared. The government is doing all it can to ensure that schools are ready to welcome students for SY 2016- 2017.

This year, Tangub City National High School was chosen to officially set the 2016 Brigada Eskwela Kick –Off activity. Brigada Walk for a Cause was the opening activity with a ten – peso registration for each participant intended to augment school’s physical preparation. A short program was conducted with messages from the city councilor, Mariano Trompeta Jr., Dr. Carmelita A. Jubay, CID Chief and Barangay Councilor/ Education Committee Chairman Anecito Pondoc of Barangay Mantic.

Participating organizations like; Barangay Officials, Couples for Christ, Women’s Association, Division Officials and Staff, Armed forces of the Philippines(AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), CVOs, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), PNRC, Alumni Association, teachers, students and parents helped in the repainting of chairs, desks, furniture, fixing the broken windows, jalousies and cleaning up the school grounds.

In the afternoon, Brigada Eskwela volunteers were surprised and delighted by the visit of the assistant Secretary for Programs and Projects of DepEd, Elvin Ivan Y. Uy accompanied by the Schools Division Suprintendent of Tangub City Division, Dr. Victoria V. Gazo, SDS of Ozamiz City Division, Rebonfamil R. Baguio, School Governance Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Susan Carpio, Ozamiz City Division, SGOD Chief Myrna T. Regidor, Tangub City Division and Education Program Supervisor (EPS) Angelita M. Maribojoc of Ozamiz City. The snap visit of Asec. Uy gave pride and honor to the schools being visited; Lorenzo Tan National High School, Tangub City National High School, Villaba Elementary School and Isidro D. Tan Elementary School.
